Welcome to your new OKR System! This guide will help you navigate the template, use it effectively, and understand how to connect it with other databases for a seamless workflow.
1. Getting Started
Understanding the Components
- Dashboard: The central hub displays views of all databases.
- Master Objectives Database: High-level goals your organization or team wants to achieve.
- Key Results Database: Measurable milestones linked to each objective.
- Task Database: Relevant tasks to meet your Key Results.
- Timeline Database: Sessions related to the same task.
2. How to Use Each Database
A. Master Objectives Database
- On the Dashboard → Objectives View → Click New to add a new objective.
- Fill out the properties:
- Objective Name: A clear, inspiring goal.
- Owner: The person responsible.
- Priority: Choose High, Medium, or Low.
- Status: Track whether it’s Not Started, In Progress, or Completed.
- Deadline: Set a realistic target date.
B. Key Results Database
- Each objective links to measurable results in this database.
- On the Dashboard → Key Results View → Click New to add a key result and complete the properties:
- Key Result Name: What you want to achieve (e.g., "Increase website traffic by 30%").
- Linked Objective: Use the relation property to connect it to its parent objective.
- Target Metric: The desired outcome (e.g., 30%).
- Current Metric: Update this regularly as work progresses.
- Owner: Assign responsibility.
- Deadline: Define when it should be achieved.
C. Tasks Database
- On the Dashboard → Key Results View → Click New to add a new task.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Task Name: Give your task a clear and concise name.
- Linked Key Result: This property connects the task to its parent key result.
- Priority: Choose High, Medium, or Low.
- Type: Categorize your task (e.g., Work, Personal, Writing, etc.).
- Status: Update the progress of your task (Not Started, In Progress, Completed).
- Due Date: Add a deadline to stay on track.
- Tags: Add keywords or categories to organize your tasks.
- Notes: Add detailed instructions or subtasks for the task.
